Plastic spoon mould

  • Steel of plastic spoon mould

Due to consumption of plastic spoon is very hug, especial the disposible plastic spoon. So plastic spoon mould need with long life to meet the production quantity request. XS Plastic Mould use H13 to produce plastic spoon mould. H13 steel after vacuum quenching harding treatment, its hardness can reach 48HRC to 52HRC. The mould life can exceed 3 million shots.

  • Plastic spoon mould runner

Spoon mould can be made with cold runner and hot runner system. But most is cold runner system. For some large quanity cavity no. spoon mould, we suggest to make the mould with one point big gate hot runner system to make the injection molding easily. Spoon mould often use round shape and sector shape runner, to make sure each cavity can get same injection pressure during injection molding. This kind of runner design can offer excellent runner balance.

  • Plastic spoon plastic raw material.

Most of the plastic spoon made by food safe grade PP material and food safe grade PS material. Spoon made by PP is softer than PS spoon. 

  • What tooling process required for the spoon mould?

After spoon mould steel purchased, we will do the CNC milling tooling and drilling holes for the mould. CNC milling tooling is a process of rough tooling.

After the rough tooling, spoon mould cavity plate and core plate will be done the vacuum quenching hardening treatment to make the steel hardness to 48HRC to 52HRC. With this hardness mould life will be more than 1,000,000 shots. As the steel with high hardness, the following precise tooling will take long time.  So spoon mould production can not be quick. CNC engraving tooling is the spoon mould main precise tooling.

After CNC engraving tooling, spoon mould will be assembled and make the first time mould test. The first time mould test mould will be without polish. After mould test no problem, then will go on the polish job. Below spoon mould pictures which we made before for your reference.

Compare with plastic spoon, the quantity on the plastic fork consumption is less. But the amount is still large.

  • Steel of plastic fork mould

Plastic fork mould steel use the same mould steel as the plastic spoon mould. There are many same characteristics, the only different is on the part design. We use H13 to make fork mould. Client can require other mould steel. We can make the plastic fork mould according client’s detail requirement. H13 steel after vacuum quenching harding treatment, its hardness can reach 48HRC to 52HRC. The mould life can exceed 3 million shots.

  • Plastic fork mould tooling process.

First make the plastic fork mould design, and make a steel purchasing list according the mould design. Once the mould steels are ready, will go on the rough tooling. For plastic fork mould, the rough tooling include CNC milling tooling, grinding, drilling holes, etc. The rough tooling process finished, will go on the precise machining. CNC engraving tooling is the precise machining for plastic fork mould.

Plastic Knife Mould

Plastic knife usually used to cut cake, fruit and other food. 
Compare with plastic spoon and plastic fork, the quantity on the plastic knife consumption is even less.

We use H13 to make plastic knife mould. Client can require other mould steel.
